To download driver and setup your product, write on your search engine MP210 download and click on the link: https://www.canon.
Background:I have an i560 Canon printer that worked well with my old Mac OS 9.2. I tried installing the drivers from the CD for a test run of using it with my iMac OS 10.6. The iMac and the printer 'talked' - one could hear the printer trying to print.

But, there was no paper feed, no printing. I checked the paper, changed it, etc. Still no luck. I went on the Apple website and was directed to Canon's web site.
From the Canon web site I downloaded a new driver purportedly OS 10.6 compatible. Now there is next to nothing happening when I try to print.Question:I wan tto uninstall both drivers and any associated 'files'. I use both a Mac and a PC. On my PC it would be no problem, but on the iMac OS 10.6 I can not find a way to uninstall.
How does one identify the correct files, drivers, etc? How does one uninstall them?Thank you,Lucca.
Not 10.6 specific, but just for the archives. Especially for those installing a wireless printer but facing an empty list for 'Canon IJ Network', here's what I've written down after installation of a PIXMA iP4000R on 10.5 Leopard, a long time ago:. The Canon PIXMA iP4000R drivers are included in a default installation of Mac OS X Leopard. The Network Setup program on the Canon printer cd does not work with Leopard. (My printer cd is labeled PIXMA iP4000R Setup Software & User's Guide, MCD 1.1, QH7-1581, copyright 2004.). The firewall must be set to allow incoming connections for 'Canon IJ Printer Utility'. (At least during installation: if not allowed, then the list for 'Canon IJ Network' in the Network Setup program will be empty.
And maybe this is also required for normal use, like to see the supply levels - but I don't see those on demand anyway, though the printer does warn me when ink or paper runs out.)Given the notes I wrote down about the cd not being usable, I might have downloaded some then. But maybe all that is needed is already included (see also /Library/Printers/Canon/BJPrinter/Utilities/) and all that's to be done is go to System Preferences, Print & Fax to add a new printer. Here, go to More Printers, wait until 'Searching for installed printer drivers' completes and select Canon IJ Network, which should then detect your printer.(Can anyone confirm that no cd, nor downloads, nor setup program are required for Mac OS X Leopard, and maybe not for Snow Leopard either?).
Hmmm, I actually posted my old 10.5 notes on the iP4000R while I didn't know yet that Snow Leopard would also remove existing printers.:-( Yet another, though slow, workaround to set up the iP4000R as a network printer, inspired by the web interface of the printer that has an option to enable/disable RAW Port (9100) and LPD:. Connect through USB, to ensure the printer driver is installed. (For me, the printer showed and installed without any question.). Add a new IP printer, select Line Printer Daemon, enter the IP address or DHCP name, and change Print Using: Generic PostScript Printer into Print Using: Select Printer Software. Here, selecting Canon iP4000R gets me in an endless loop, but changing it into Canon PIXMA iP4000 - Gutenprint v5.2.3 (and leaving the name for the queue empty) works fine. The Gutenprint driver supports duplex, and all paper sources including the printable cd tray.
It doesn't give me the Printer Utilities (hardly ever used them) nor the supply levels (Leopard didn't either). It's terribly slow though, but I did not investigate that yet.Note: using the old Canon software, like described in the original hint, may very well be a better idea!. Printing works just fine once you follow the instructions detailed in this hint.
BUT, the driver doesn't work properly in all apps. My theory is that 64-bit apps (most of the built-in ones, for example) do NOT work properly but any lingering 32-bit apps (Firefox, for example) will work properly. So here's what is NOT working with my MP600R printer: Quality & Media, and other printer dialog settings.
I get an error when running Mail and Safari (so far) which says, 'The Bundle 'QualityMedia583a' couldn't be loaded because it doesn't contain a version for the current architecture.' I assume 'current architecture' means 64-bit app.So we are going to have to rely on Canon to produce bundles for the 64-bit apps that is my assumption. I hope they don't let us down. I am having this exact same problem as canoe ('couldn't be loaded because it doesn't contain a version for the current architecture') with my Canon MP980 while trying to print a basic PDF in Preview. I discovered that if I put my apps in 32-bit mode, the 600R driver works perfectly.
So it confirms that it is a very simple change that Canon needs to do (add the 64-bit architecture to the UI description file) to get this working. But I see that MP600R is not in the list of printers that will be supported but MP600 will be supported. If this in fact turns out to be the case it will be the last time I buy or recommend a Canon product, as I have only had this printer for 18 months or so.I sent mail to Canon support to see if they intend to make this simple fix for the 600R driver. This is my last Snow Leopard issue. Guys, I just installed 10.6 and found my i-Sensys LBP5000 was no longer supported. A search online by the Apple printer utility failed to find a driver. I searched the web, various forums, etc.
And found this thread and the official Canon stuff which indicates that the LBP-5000 isn't supported. As a last ditch effort I rang Canon and paid for a guy to tell me my printer isn't supported and that I should revert to 10.5.!The reality is that with this printer, all you actually have to do is re-run the CAPT v1.70 installer again after the upgrade:=If you installed it on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, you may still have the file CANONCAPTV170EN.dmg on your home area. Meanwhile, Canon has released new CUPS drivers for some printers, including the iP4000R. Mac OS X Software Update does not know about this (yet?), and neither does. However, Canon's and sites list 10.6 drivers for the iP4000R.Other printers as well. So, for the iP4000R one can now get CUPS driver version 10.26.0.0 (Mac OS X 10.5/10.6). Install it, and then use System Preferences to add a new printer as usual. Select the 'Default' option and just wait a few seconds (and ensure the firewall allows access) to see the iP4000R show automatically.
(In earlier drivers one would get a new 'More printers' option in addition to 'Default', 'Fax', 'IP' and 'Windows'.)The type reads 'canonijnetwork' and it gets a funny URL like canonijnetwork://Canon/iP4000R?00.00.85.xx.xx.xx (the last part being the MAC-address), even though my DHCP settings do not give the printer the name 'Canon'. My firewall now allows incoming connections for 'Canon IJ Printer Utility' and 'canonijnetwork.bundle'.Thanks to Canon for releasing the new drivers within a week after the official launch!. After upgrading to 10.6 my Canon Pixma MP620 would show up as a scanner (nice new behavior) but not a printer when trying to connect wirelessly. After rerunning the old installer (mp620sosxpd7122ea8-2.dmg), I notice a button at the BOTTOM of the Add a Printer window labeled 'More Printers.' This is NOT with the other printer types listed across the top. Bad design if you ask me. After clicking 'More Printers.'
I was given the choice 'Canon IJ Network' and my printer showed there along with it address (MAC?).Maybe this button was showing before I installed the driver, but I don't think so.Also, before the upgrade it sometimes took more than 30 seconds for my printer to show up in the list of Canon IJ Network printers. If your's doesn't show up right away, wait a bit before giving up. I have a CANON PIXMA MX-850 network connected. Was working fine, on 10.5, upgrade to 10.6 deleted my printers.
After that the Canon showed up as a scanner only. Same behavior everyone else is seeing. Very annoying.Go directly to canon and load their latest and greatest drivers. The released a bunch of new software in Sept of 2009.
This still didn't resolve the issue. On a lark I downloaded the IJ Network took again. That is the tool that lets you set your printers network settings remotely. It installed, forced a reboot ran the software and I just confirmed the settings that it found. After that my printer showed up in the default list after that.

Seems to work fine now.Rod. Just in case someone made the same mistake I did:After Canon posted their new driver for the all-in-one mp620 printer/scanner I ASSUMED that the one driver worked for the printer/scanner.
After installing the driver at the top of the list I could print again - yay! But, I still couldn't scan! After a few days of grumbling about still not being able to scan I went back to the Canon website and read a little more carefully - guess what? This all-in-one device requires two, separate drivers! I downloaded the SEPARATE driver for the scanner component and it worked! After 1 month of not being able to print and/or scan - I'm finally back up and running!. Just to add to this bit of information, I want to report that after installing Snow Leopard, I was not able to print on a wireless network with the recently released Canon drivers.
Using Canon IJ Network utility version 2.6 or 2.7 there was no way to see the MP600R in the setup pane, and neither in the Apple Printer system preferences pane. Everything else worked (scan on wifi, including configuring the printer over wifi with Canon Network utility version 2.6 - 2.7 was not able to do this). At the end the solution was to DELETE everything related to Canon on my Hard Disk and reinstall the old drivers that came on the CD (for system 10.4). This installs version 2.2 of Canon IJ Network Utility. The printer still does not appear in the setup pane (but appears in the 'utility' pane for wireless configuration) BUT there is now a 'More printers' button in the Apple printer system preferences pane when I add a printer and I can now setup the printer for wireless printing.
Scanning over wifi still works, and I can also do TWAIN access over wifi inside Graphic Converter.Shame on Canon for bad integration of their network protocol in Mac OS X. I have lost various hours on this. Anyone really figure this one out? I've got a very similar problem:New Macbook running OSX Snow Leopard. Connects easily via my wireless network, communicates with the PC and it's two external HD's. Only problem is printing. In the system prefs/print & fax window I've tried adding printers via the 'default' tab (obviously nothing there).
Under 'IP' I've added it under 'Line printer daemon - LPD' with a valid address and name where after 'gathering printer info' it lists it as a 'generic postscript printer' - I change it to Canon MP600 driver and click 'add' and a window drops down for a half second saying 'determining installable options.' Then nothing - won't let me add it. Same thing under 'Internet Printing Protocol - IPP.' Finally, under the 'windows' tab, it allows me to add it successfully but nothing happens when I print (the queue says it printed but it never completes). I can't communicate with it via the 'Options & Supplies' either - say's 'gathering info,' then 'No info available.' I've tried using the OSX canon driver, I've installed both the latest canon driver for it and the 'cups' driver - no luck. I've tried adding printers via the 'default' tab (obviously nothing there)Not too obvious for me.
Like I described above, if the printer drivers have been installed (like maybe, if not included in Leopard by default, then by connecting the printer through USB first) then, when it is in range and the firewall allows access, it should show up after a few seconds. At least, for an iP4000R. See also for a screenshot. The from the Canon website have the same version number 10.26.0.0 that works for an iP4000R. After an afternoon of frustration I finally succeeded in making my Canon LBP5000 printer work as a network printer in OS X.10.5.8 the solution should work for 10.6 as well1.
I downloaded the CAPT Printer Driver Ver.3.10 for Mac OS X 10.4/10.5/10.6 from here: installed the driver3. In 'Print&Fax' I added a printer, clicked on the 'More Printers' tab, selected 'Canon IP (CUPS CAPT) on the drop-down menu, entered the IP number of my network printer, selected my 'Canon LBP5000 CAPT' printer in the 'Product' window and clicked on Add4. Now the IP of my network printer was listed in 'Print&Fax' and I was able to print. Well after hours of trying to install the Canon MP 620 driver on her Mac book with snow leopard I finally figured it out!!I successfully had installed this driver on my MBP months ago, but couldn't remember exactly how I did it.
It took me hours the first time as it doesn't work as it's supposed to.The secret?? Go to the website and install the latest drivers, I know there are 4 pieces of software with very poor descriptions as to what they are, I just installed all of them, it still doesn't get you working.2. Go to your printer and fax settings in preferences.3. Click the + option at the bottom of the box or list of installed printers.
Make sure the printer is on4. Select the default choice at the top of the window whether it is going to be the default or not This is the KEY!!!!5 select the Canon MP620 series (00.xxxx.) which should show up in a few seconds Kind should read canonijnetwork6. Ciick add it should then come up with a dialogue and add the printer dialogue.
Finally!!!I hope this helps save you many hours. It is possible that a USB2.0 cable might help, but the big question in my opinion is why wouldn't it come with one - especially if you need one for proper operation of the device?
